Greetings delegates! My name is Taim Masharka, and I am honored to serve as your Chair for the Historical Security Council at JOSMUN 2026. I’ve been part of the MUN world for years, and throughout that time, I’ve fallen in love with the intensity of diplomatic debate and the unique challenge of rewriting history through negotiation and strategy.

As your chair, my goal is to create a council that is engaging, fair, and genuinely fun. You can expect a heated debate and a space where creativity and critical thinking are equally valued. Whether you’re a seasoned delegate or attending your first specialized committee, I’m here to make sure you get the most unforgettable experience possible.

MUN has been one of the most remarkable experiences in my past 3 years.  I walked out of each conference with new friends that I will forever be grateful for, new perspectives and knowledge, more confidence and dedication to grow and learn, and, of course, a ton of memories that will remain with me for life. 

My biggest goal as your chair is to make sure that every single one of you will walk out of our committee with that same feeling, if not a better one!

 And finally, my tip for you is to come prepared, and be ready to have the time of your lives!!

Hello delegates! My name is Maria Haj, and I am truly honored to be chairing you in this year’s JOSMUN. MUN has been a huge part of my life for the past four years, one that has helped me to grow, learn, and view the world from new perspectives. 

I’m beyond excited to chair you in the Historical Security Council, as it has always been one of my favorite committees. I can’t wait to see what each of you has prepared and how you're going to contribute to the debate. I’m looking forward to the heated discussions, the challenges, and the excitement that HSC always delivers. 

I hope that every one of you speaks up, pushes your limits, and truly enjoys every moment of the experience. I want you to walk away with new skills, newfound confidence, and memories that stay with you long after the conference ends.
